Keep a plan / Questions to take
Take questions that lead to plain answers.
Copy the questions that matter to you. Leave room for the reply, and ask for a written plan when a lot is covered at once.
About the health checks
- What health problem is this plan meant to address?
- What makes this option fit my health history?
- What other options can we discuss?
- If a test is needed, what would its result change?
- How can I ask the clinician a question after this visit?
About the medicine
- What is the exact medicine name and form?
- Is it the approved product or a compounded preparation?
- If it is compounded, what change meets my own medical need?
- Which pharmacy dispenses it, and who makes it?
- Can the pharmacist explain the label and device?
Ask for words you can repeat back, especially if the medicine name on the quote differs from the name in the conversation.
About symptoms and ongoing care
- Which symptoms call for a message, a visit, or urgent help?
- Who answers if I have a problem between visits?
- How will progress and any treatment changes be reviewed?
- How do pregnancy plans, birth control, or surgery affect the plan?
- What happens if I want or need to stop?
About the full bill
- What is included in the quote and what is extra?
- What price applies after the opening offer?
- What happens if insurance refuses to pay?
- What are the renewal and cancellation terms?
- Can I have the product details and full quote in writing?
It is fine to leave a question open while you get a clearer answer.
Keep this note
A question is useful when the reply tells you what will happen next.
